My New "Mora" Clock, Cherry Chocolate Cake, and Garden Pics

I've had a love affair with Swedish Mora clocks for some time now, so imagine my surprise when Pamela From My Front Porch To Yours Blog posted one on Instagram for only $12.99! She got it at Kirkland's, so I immediately hightailed it down there and got my very own. Of course for that price, it's not an actual Mora clock, but I didn't care. It was close enough and had the look I was going for. So, here she is...

Isn't she pretty?

I love how she looks on our DIY rolling cart...

Okay, I mentioned the Chocolate Cherry Pecan Cake recipe a couple of days ago HERE. Well, I made it and it was delicious!

With the cinnamon, it reminds me of the Mexican Chocolate Sheet Cake. So yummy!

I finally got a chance to snap some pics of my Vitex trees in bloom...

The purple blooms are so vibrant and pretty!

Oh, and I also figured out the name of these pretties. I spotted it at Home Depot and a couple of nice readers also knew the name...it's Orange Bulbine. So, there you have it. :)

Apparently they're drought tolerant and perfect for xeriscaping if you're into that.

So, that's all for now. I'll be back soon with my new favorite and very comfy maxi skirt that comes in a billion colors for only $10 and some new flowers for the patio. I know, I know...you can't stand the excitement, huh? Lol!

  4. That is like a miniature Mora clock! Very pretty! Glad to know that the cake turned out good. It's hard to beat anything with chocolate in it. Your Videx trees remind me of my butterfly bushes here. They have purple cone shaped flowers at the end of the branches. They only bloom in the summer though.

    1. That's a great idea! I'll definitely start planning a post about creating my backyard beds. There were a lot of things to consider and I actually worked on the plan for quite awhile before starting it. I'm so glad you did the cabinet feet!!! That was such an inexpensive update and makes such a difference. I love the custom look it creates. :)

  12. I always enjoy seeing your yard, plants and trees. Isn't it great for everything to be so green? I just feel bad for those that have lost so much in all these storms. We're kinda like Houston right now...a little rain every day! :) It's so cool, in the low 60's today and tomorrow. I know I will be craving that in July & August!

I love clocks! Your new one is very pretty!

    1. Ah yes...nap time is great isn't it? I remember when my boys were little and I would look forward to it daily. ;) We did do the pavers on the patio ourselves. Here's a link to the post: http://texasdecor.blogspot.com/2013/11/patio-makeover.html I'm not sure if that link will work, but if you put "patio makeover" in the search box on the right side of my blog, it should come up. I didn't really do a tutorial on it, but we pretty much just put down a concrete mixture and plopped the pavers right on top. :)
