How I Store My Necklaces and a Great Deal

Well, I seem to be doing a lot of random posts lately. :) Do y'all have a Kohl's in your area? I love that store! My mom and aunt convinced me to get a Kohl's credit card so I could start receiving their coupons in the mail. Boy, am I glad I took their advice! I recently got a 30% off anything in the store coupon and they just sent me a $10 coupon good for anything in the store, just for signing up for paperless billing.

I went to Kohl's armed with all my coupons. I wasn't sure what I was looking for, I just knew I didn't want those coupons to go to waste. The 30% off coupon was for 30%  off EVERYTHING you buy that day. What a deal!

I decided to look at the necklaces. I love to wear necklaces and earrings when I go out. And by "out" I mean my weekly trip to the grocery store. :)

Look what I found...
You can click on this to make it bigger. I think the only color necklace I still needed was yellow. Aren't these cute? I especially love the one on the right with the daisies. It came with the matching earrings too.

Here's a close up of the earrings. The original price on the solid yellow necklace on the left was $18. The original price on the necklace on the right with the earrings was $24, and the original price of the solid yellow earrings was $12. So, that comes to a total of $54, but you KNOW I didn't pay that much. :) They were already on sale for 40% off, then I used my $10 coupon, THEN I got my 30% off everything for a grand total of...$15.68!! I can't believe I got all three of these items for that price!

And can you believe when I checked out, they gave me ANOTHER $10 coupon for anything in the store! Looks like I'll be frequenting Kohl's a lot. :)

Once I started collecting lots of necklaces, I needed a way to store them.

Here's what I had to work with. I needed to find an easy solution to store these. By the way, I think all of these were under $10.  I don't like to pay a lot for jewelry. :)

Here's what I did. I just put some command hooks inside the linen closet door in my bathroom. Then I taped some felt squares from Michael's underneath the hooks so the necklaces wouldn't bang around on the door every time I opened and closed it. I just got white felt squares so they would match the door. They were around .30 cents at Michael's.

It's kind of hard to see the felt squares in the pic above, so I pulled this one away from the door a little so you could see it. :) I just used tape to secure it.

And here's are all my necklaces hanging on the hooks. Hmm...looks like I need to add a few more hooks. :) They're a little squished. Ha! And yes, that's my "recipe" for homemade eye make up remover from my FAVORITE THINGS POST taped to the door so I don't forget it. :)

I had to share with y'all my favorite necklace. I love how it has so many colors in it. It goes with pretty much anything. I got it at J.C. Penney a while back when they used to have those $10 coupons good on anything. This necklace was on sale for $8, so I got a couple of those Dylan's Candy Bars at $2 each (to put in my kids stockings since it was close to Christmas), so my total was $12, but with my coupon, I got the necklace and two candy bars for $2!! Sweet!
Thanks for stopping by!

  1. You really have a nice collection of necklaces...my daughter Emily would love these, she really likes everything bright and colorful. Great way to hang them, too, I'm going to show her this. She is an organizational nut! I'm a bracelet, earring girl. I have 2 of those tree things on my dresser.

BE careful with your Kohls card!!! Those coupons can become addicting and lure you into the store when you otherwise wouldn't be going. My mother always told me the best way to get a bargain was to stay out of the stores! lol! I do love Kohls and they really have so many fantastic brands, the housewares...sigh! But just like with Target, I have to avoid going because I don;t have a lot of self control. My in laws were crazy about Kohls, but they were so frugal, they only bought what they went there for. Okay, enough lecturing!! ;-D

I made the candy last night and I have to take it out of the freezer. It looked so cute!! I think I only made half the amount, I didn't use the 2nd bag of Hugs, which are delicious by the way. I will give you a link in my post, which I hope to get around to today!

  2. Lisa,

Lovely idea on how to organize your jewelry. I found a cute jewelry oranizer on Etsy a couple of years ago and love it! Your candy looks so good and just saw it on Jane's blog since she made them! Hope you are having a great Monday!

    Thanks for visiting me, too.

  6. I love your taste in jewelry! I think your display/storage idea is great. When our jewelry is close at hand and easy to see, I think we wear it more. Way-to-go with the coupons. Score!

  9. I have one like this that I've hung on the wall just inside my closet. http://sunnyford.en.made-in-china.com/productimage/tMcnObyJnBUq-2f0j00FeCTiOkSwKuM/China-Wooden-Jewelry-Organizer-Jewelry-Hanger-c-.html Love it because I'm an earring addict! I can group my earrings according to color. My only problem is still not having enough room for all my necklaces! I hook the longer ones over the end of my closet rod, same with my belts. Might be time to declutter. :)
