Makeup Favorites: Bronzer, Nail Polish and Mascara

I recently started using a new nail polish and I'm so happy with it, I had to share. I first saw it on The Today Show during one of their Beauty segments.

It's Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear and it's only $2.50!

I know these pics are a little dark, but when I tried to edit them, it changed the actual colors too much and I wanted a more real representation here.

They said it lasted the longest in their tests and for me, it lasted almost 2 weeks before starting to chip. That's amazing, considering how hard I am on my nails, but it lasted right through multiple house cleanings.

From right to left: 279 Pink Punk, 169 Bare It All, 229 Giant Peach, and 189 Mauve over.

Now this is the color I was really impressed with, 169 Bare It All...

I have tried almost every "bare nails" or "nude" look color out there and they're all either too pink or too white. I'm telling you, this one is the winner!

I don't think I've shared this yet, but I just started using bronzer a few months ago and love this one...

e.l.f. bronzer in "Golden" color. This one will set you back about $3 at Target. I read once that you're supposed to lightly apply it to your forehead, temples, hollow of your cheek, nose, chin and jawline, so that's what I do.

This is the brush I use to apply it...

e.l.f. Ultimate Blending Brush $6 at Target.

And now my new favorite mascara. It's Loreal Voluminous Lash Paradise...

With our humidity, we have to be careful with mascara. I use waterproof, but it can still leave little dots under my eyebrows from the mascara getting humid and when I look up, my mascara leaves those dots by my brow bone. But not with this one. I was so impressed that I went all summer without the dreaded "dot under the eyebrow" look. Oh and FYI, wearing eye shadow helps with the dots too. It forms a little barrier on your skin and helps to keep the mascara on your eye lashes. Especially in humid climates, mascara is more apt to stick to a bare eyelid than to one with a layer of powdered eye shadow.

While we're talking eye shadow, I'm still using this one...

e.l.f. Mad For Matte in "Nude Mood." $10

And that's if for now. Thanks for stopping by!

  3. The polish colors are so pretty. My oldest loves Elf. I have switched all mine to natural products, but most of theirs get fairly good ratings when looking at ingredients.
