I'm Back!!!

Hello!!! Oh wow, I didn't mean to stay away from blogging for so long. But life happens and we had a lot of fun things going on, so the blog kinda took a backseat. :)

My oldest son Dylan just got back from a 3 week trip to South Africa and Dubai.

Here he is at the Burj Khalifa in Dubai...

Burj Al Arab...

It was truly the trip of a lifetime. He had so many fun experiences. I took this screen shot to show how far away he was from me...

Almost 8,600 miles, y'all!

Here are a few pics from his travels...

Penguins!

He went on safari in South Africa and saw all kinds of animals up close...

I was a little nervous when he sent me this one...

That leopard was a little too close!

These are wild dogs in Kruger Park...

This is one of my favorite pics of him, taken in Bo Kaap...

So grateful for a safe and fun trip for him.

Another thing that's been taking up my time lately is cycling. I haven't ridden a bike in probably 10 years, but I've gotten back into it and I'm loving it! We take our "real" bikes to the trails by our house, but when the weather isn't cooperating, I wanted a stationary bike for indoors. So I bought this one...

I know it's kinda grandma-ish, lol! But it's so much easier than putting on sunscreen, a helmet, sunglasses, loading up with water, etc. when we go to the trails.

And it folds up to a 20"X20" space...

It has everything I needed: It keeps track of time, speed, distance, calories and even your pulse. It has a comfy seat AND seat back. A tension knob with 8 settings, a cell phone holder and wheels for moving it around. It's also completely silent, which I love. I can ride and watch tv or read my kindle. I've been doing 10 miles a day 4-5 days a week and I love it! If you're in the market for one, this one is from Walmart and the brand is Xterra. And the best part...it was only $136 with free shipping! Let me know if you need more info on it and I can provide the model number, etc.

I'll try to get back into blogging more regularly, but I still mostly post on Instagram. You can find me @texasdecor.

However, I will be sharing my Fall Home Tour on the blog, so stay tuned. I think I took about 40 pics, so put the coffee on. :)

  4. What a great trip for Dylan. He looks a lot like you Lisa. What a handsome guy. Terry went to Dubai and Saudi a few years ago. He said it was like leaving our planet and going to a whole new one. Cultural and picturesque for sure. He taught some firefighters over there safety and training classes. He said it was a great trip for him too. Love the bike and how compact it is. I might have to think about one of those. I am walking right now while it is great weather but this winter I may need something like this. Thanks for the info.
    Have a great weekend.
