Chicken Salad Recipe, Snickers, Another Chalkboard Makeover, and Pics From Around The House...

This is another random post. I hope y'all don't mind. :)

This is some chicken salad I made the other day. I got the recipe from my sis-in-law. We've been making this for years now. It's just cooked, shredded chicken, mayo, crushed pineapple(drained), salt, pepper, pine nuts, and garlic pepper. The garlic pepper totally makes this salad! You just use any amount of the seasonings you want. So good!

Have y'all seen these? They are so good! If you like snickers, you'll like the snickers ice cream bar. And they're just 90 calories. (if you just eat one) :)
Remember my chalkboard makeover I showed you HERE? Well, I switched out the papers again to make it into a "Happy Birthday" chalkboard.

I just bought 3 pieces of "birthday" scrap paper at Joann's on sale for .20 cents apiece.

Then I just cut them to size and fit them into the openings.

That frosting one looks so yummy!

So simple!

Remember how Holly possibly saved our lives the other day? Well, she's been acting like the queen of the house ever since then. (and rightly so) :)

Sorry this is blurry. I just grabbed my phone real quick to snap a pic of Holly up on the coffee table. Ha! She's playing with her Kickeroo.

And here's when I caught her on the counter in the kitchen. She's totally not supposed to be up there. I caught her taking a bath. LOL!

And here she is checking out the candles on the end table in the family room. She definitely rules the house now. :)

I guess that's it for now. What kind of ice cream do y'all like? I love the snickers ice cream bars, but I also love a good bubble gum ice cream. :)

Hope you all have a great day!

  1. Oh boy that chicken salad sounds delicious and perfect for a hot summer day. The Snickers ice cream bars sound good too. I like it when you know the exact portion and calories. It helps me stay on track.

You know, I have kind of given up on the cat walking on everything. Some days I worry about it and some days I don't. They are cats after all. :)

  2. I like the sound of your chicken salad. I love trying the spice mixes they come up with. I just tried the McCormick Salad Supreme tonight on a hot pasta/veggie salad (I thought it was Mrs. Dash, I am off salt but I grabbed it so fast, I didn't notice!). Boy was it good! Sometimes it's more economical to have the mix instead of a lot of bottles.

I have been devouring frozen yogurt, I just love it and just can't seem to control my portions with anything sweet in the house! I buy ice cream and cookies that I don't like for everyone else. And I've been a good girl.

Holly is a doll. I know cats walk on furniture, that's just being a cat. And dogs sleep on furniture, even after they have been rolling around in the dirt! lol!

    Have a great evening! :)

    XO,
    Jane

  4. I love chicken salad. Have you had the one at Arby's yet? It's only offered in the summer and is really good with apples, grapes and nuts in it. Yes, I love icecream. Those snicker bars look good too. I'm sure I couldn't eat just one though. LOL! I have a big sweet tooth. Your cat gets around the house, doesn't she?! I once had a cat that would climb up on top of the refrigerator and even my fireplace mantel! (I ended up getting rid of him eventually). I would wake up and see things knocked over and broken each morning. Not good!

  5. Well, as I always say, "Cats rule, dogs drool!" I've never seen Abby on the kitchen counter, but that doesn't mean it's never happened....lol! For those areas of our home where I've seen her and really prefer that she not visit there, I have some cans of stuff called "ssscat" that I get at Petsmart. It's totally harmless, but shoots out a spray of mist if the cat crosses in the path of the infared light -- it's battery powered. Abby learned a lot faster than we did -- we got sprayed much more often. I don't even have to actually turn my can "on" most of the time. Abby sees the can and stays away. I use it a lot on my dining room table when I've got it set for a special occasion -- it's an amazing deterrent!
