Makeup Favorites: Bronzer, Nail Polish and Mascara

I recently started using a new nail polish and I'm so happy with it, I had to share. I first saw it on The Today Show during one of their Beauty segments.

It's Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear and it's only $2.50!

I know these pics are a little dark, but when I tried to edit them, it changed the actual colors too much and I wanted a more real representation here.

They said it lasted the longest in their tests and for me, it lasted almost 2 weeks before starting to chip. That's amazing, considering how hard I am on my nails, but it lasted right through multiple house cleanings.

From right to left: 279 Pink Punk, 169 Bare It All, 229 Giant Peach, and 189 Mauve over.

Now this is the color I was really impressed with, 169 Bare It All...

I have tried almost every "bare nails" or "nude" look color out there and they're all either too pink or too white. I'm telling you, this one is the winner!

I don't think I've shared this yet, but I just started using bronzer a few months ago and love this one...

e.l.f. bronzer in "Golden" color. This one will set you back about $3 at Target. I read once that you're supposed to lightly apply it to your forehead, temples, hollow of your cheek, nose, chin and jawline, so that's what I do.

This is the brush I use to apply it...

e.l.f. Ultimate Blending Brush $6 at Target.

And now my new favorite mascara. It's Loreal Voluminous Lash Paradise...

With our humidity, we have to be careful with mascara. I use waterproof, but it can still leave little dots under my eyebrows from the mascara getting humid and when I look up, my mascara leaves those dots by my brow bone. But not with this one. I was so impressed that I went all summer without the dreaded "dot under the eyebrow" look. Oh and FYI, wearing eye shadow helps with the dots too. It forms a little barrier on your skin and helps to keep the mascara on your eye lashes. Especially in humid climates, mascara is more apt to stick to a bare eyelid than to one with a layer of powdered eye shadow.

While we're talking eye shadow, I'm still using this one...

e.l.f. Mad For Matte in "Nude Mood." $10

And that's if for now. Thanks for stopping by!

Halloween Hijinks

This is what it's like to have boys. I found these little gems when I went to get in my car this week...

Those red eyes!!!

And this...

Scared me silly.

Now, this boy would never do that...

He loves to hide around the corner and scare his sissy Holly, but never me. And can you believe how big/fluffy he is?! I'm fairly certain he's at least part Maine Coon. He's topping the scales at 15 lbs. now.

Have y'all been to Big Lots lately? Just look at this cute fall decor...

And Christmas...

They really have some good stuff. I have some seasonal decor I bought at Big Lots probably 20 years ago and still use it to this day.

Couldn't resist snapping this sunrise in the backyard the other day...

And because I haven't posted these in a while, here are a few Instagram posts that caught my eye. I hope they make you smile. :)

Purricane! Love it!

This is such a good tip...

You should follow @byjillee on IG. She is a wealth of information.

Mmhmm. Yep. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Dylan Landed His Dream Job!

I just had to pop in this weekend for a little proud mom moment. :) My son Dylan just landed his dream job!

This is Dylan in Bo-Kaap, South Africa last month.

He'll be putting his BBA in Supply Chain to good use doing procurement for a global company. When he was a senior in college, he said his ultimate dream job would be to work for this particular company and now he has it! I love it when dreams come true! I'll never forget when I got the text from him yesterday that said "I GOT THE JOB!!!" So fun!

He'll have to move because it's too far away for him to drive every day, but we'll easily be able to visit on weekends. I'll soon be busy helping him move and get all set up in his new place, but maybe he'll let me share some pics along the way.

I'm so happy for him and so very grateful. I just had to share this with y'all. Thanks for listening!

Hope you're enjoying your Saturday!

Fall Decor 2018

Sharing my Fall Decor today...all 42 pics, lol! Get comfy, y'all. :)

My old fall yard sign finally broke, so I've been looking for a new one. I wanted something that wasn't too Halloween-ish, so it would work from fall through Thanksgiving. Found this one at Hobby Lobby and it was even on sale.

Welcome to our home! Don't worry, that jack-o-lantern will be replaced with a cornucopia after Halloween.

Dining room...

Foyer...

I usually have all neutral pumpkins in this basket. But this year I decided to mix it up a bit and add some orange ones.

A close up of this fall garland around the candle holder...

Besides the fall yard sign, (and a couple of plates) this is the only new item I added this year. I made this little wreath and attached it to my tobacco basket..

I bought the wreath at Dollar Tree and added some ribbon I already had on hand. I literally used scotch tape to attach it. :)

A few orange and cable knit pillows to cozy up the family room...

I wasn't sure how I wanted to display some of my favorite pumpkins, so I threw them in this metal basket and called it a day.

An Anne of Green Gables quote, a fall leaf candle holder and a spray painted pumpkin...

A harvest jug and some neutral pumpkin pillows...

Finn even matches my fall decor!

I'm still loving this crown...

There's my $5 scarf from Walmart, disguised as a pretty fall throw on the chair...

I was also on the hunt for a pair of pumpkin plates to decorate with this year. I looked all over...Hobby Lobby, Pier 1, World Market, Walmart, Target, etc. I found a couple that would work, but I wasn't crazy about them and they were about $12 each and I didn't want to spend $24 on plates. Then I found this cute one that I loved at HEB of all places! And it was only $2.50! You'll see the other one on the buffet in the breakfast room. Gotta love HEB's seasonal aisle!

Love that autumn sign on the basket...

Just a few pops of fall in the kitchen...

Thanks, Stacey from Poofing the Pillows Blog for the tea towel on the mixer idea!

A pretty fall print and another towel...

Just some Dollar Tree ribbon on the canisters. Now they're ready for all the fall baking.

That pumpkin candle holder is so pretty when the candle is lit.

Whew! That was a lot of pics! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful fall season!
