A Little Fourth of July Decor and a Peachy Recipe

Hey, y'all!

Can you believe it's almost the fourth of July??? Summer is already flying by. I went very light on my patriotic decor this year, but still wanted to share some pics.

I'm having a ball decorating my new shelves!

I'm always tempted to buy some flag pillows for the fourth, but my solid red ones work for Christmas, Valentine's, AND the fourth of July, so it's all good. :)

That star on the buffet is the only holiday decor in the kitchen this year. #lazy

I seem to keep the entry the same year after year...

Ugh. I almost didn't share these pics because it's so rainy and dark and dreary outside. I kept waiting for a sunny day, but so far we haven't had any. So I decided to step out quickly between storms and snap these pics. You can see how wet everything is.

I love the buntings on the pergola!

My poor Gomphrena flowers. They DO NOT like all this rain. They're very heat tolerant and this rain isn't making them happy.

EDITED ~ (I had to add this pic of the patio on Friday because we finally had some sun to dry everything up!)

Okay, so on to the Peach Crunch recipe. Doesn't this look delicious?

I shared the recipe on IG awhile ago, so I just pulled this pic directly off my feed instead of typing up the recipe again. :)

As you can tell, it's VERY easy to make and would be the perfect addition to your fourth of July celebration this weekend!

Here are a few more detailed pics. First, just pour the can of peaches into a 13x9 pan. I cut mine up a little more, but that's just a personal preference.

Then add the dry, yellow cake mix on top.

Then the butter...

And the brown sugar...

And finally the pecans...

Bake at 350 for 50 minutes.

Below is what it looks like when it comes out of the oven...
Yum!

Just scoop it out onto a plate and top with ice cream while still warm. Delicious!

Hope you all have a safe and happy fourth of July!!!

~Lisa

  1. I meant to ask you how your gomphrenas are doing!! Mine look like wilted purple mounds...I planted celosia this year too and it's the same way. I may go to Lowe's today and do a little flower refreshing.

Your 4th decorations look so cute! Love the bunting outside.

  2. Hey! You did better than I did about decorating for the 4th of July! I did absolutely nothing. I don't even have a flag outside. At first, I thought I might do something, but then this morning woke up to heavy rain and thunderstorms which is suppose to continue all weekend! So, it's raining here too. I see no point in decorating if no one is outside to enjoy it. I rarely decorate inside for the 4th anyway. You have some cute patriotic decorations. I like your peach cobbler recipe! It looks very easy. I was just telling my husband that I should make it since it's a great summer dessert! Hope you and your family have a nice holiday weekend (despite the rain).

  3. Love it Lisa it all looks great and festive. I have three little flags and one big flag out front and that is it. We have had so much rain I just did not feel like decorating this year. The week end is looking good for no rain so we are happy campers up here in Chicago for our bbq's and parties this week end.
    Happy 4th. Enjoy.

  4. I love your patriotic décor...I have most of my stuff at the lake so I had to start anew here. And your shelves...how fun it is going to be to do them up every time you want! Looking good!

Your recipe is awesome...I'm definitely going to try it!

    Happy 4th!

  5. You are really enjoying those new shelves, aren't you? They look so good! I thought about making a couple of flag pillows, but time got away from me. Maybe I'll make some next year, if I can find some "After the 4th" fabric on sale. Wow, I would so make that dessert if we were having company, but I'm pinning it for when we do......looks so delicious! Have a great 4th, Lisa!

  8. I just love how you decorate for all Holidays!! I don't think I've ever decorated for the fourth but it sure does look like fun! Maybe next year ;)

And that Peach Crunch!!!! You have me drooling over here! I haven't craved sweets throughout this pregnancy until now so you're tempting me little lady! lol

I hope you and your family had a lovely Independence day!

  9. Your yard is so green and pretty. Love your holiday decorations. I didn't put out much. I always plan to, but usually just stick to flags in my flower pots. Love your peach recipe. Kroger had peaches on sale last week for .99 a lb. So I stocked up. We've been drinking a lot of peach smoothies though. Crunch cake sounds tempting! LOL
