Christmas Decor Part 1

Hello! Did everyone have a nice Thanksgiving? We sure did. The day after Thanksgiving, we got out our Christmas decor. I worked on the inside while the boys put up lights outside. My youngest looks forward to putting up the lights all year long. :)

I split this up into two posts. Today I'm sharing the Christmas decor in my living room and kitchen. Be sure to check back soon because up next, I'll be sharing my porch, foyer, dining room, guest bath and master bedroom all decked out for the holidays. I actually had a friend take some of these pics, so maybe they'll be a little better than normal. :)

That snowflake plate is actually plastic. It came from Target a few years ago.

I know several of you have this same reindeer ornament from Dollar Tree. :)

I made the wreath using deco mesh and wired ribbon.

These little birds came in a set of three. I'll show you the third one in a minute. 

There's the 3rd little bird. :) 

Love filling my dough bowl with different things for the holidays. 

That's my burlap pail from Target's dollar spot. 

And there's the white snowflake one from the dollar spot. 

I always do a gingerbread/peppermint themed tree in the kitchen. I'll do a whole separate post on the individual trees. 

I got this "let it snow" frame idea from Melissa at 320 Sycamore Blog.

I love this little snowman with the dangling legs. When I pulled him out of storage, his little carrot nose was missing. Would you believe I was able to find it among the mess of unpacking everything?! I hot glued it back on. :) 

I've had this Christmas tree cookie jar for many, many years. I think it came from Walmart.

Of course I had to incorporate a little quote from the movie "Elf" on my chalkboard. Did you notice how I switched out the papers yet again for Christmas? I love this versatile little chalkboard.

I was going to put a dark green wreath on my new pantry door, but my hubby reminded me it might not show up on the dark color. Luckily, I had this pretty wreath my mom gave me a few years ago. It turned out to be the perfect color! Thanks, mom!

I have several of these soft little ornaments around the house. I just added some extra ribbon so it would be large enough to hang on the pantry door knob. 

I didn't want to put my new cake plate away, so I just stuck it up on top of the buffet with a couple of candle rings and a candle in the middle. 

Well, I guess that's about it for now. I'll be posting part 2 soon. I can't wait to see everyone's Christmas decor!

Thanksgiving Tablescape

Hello everyone! I'm so glad my kids are out of school for a week and we can all enjoy relaxing and visiting with family. We always host Thanksgiving and Christmas at our house and I wouldn't have it any other way. I love hosting the holidays! I'll be doing a lot of cooking and baking next week, so I wanted to go ahead and share my Thanksgiving tablescape with y'all. You can click HERE to see my Thanksgiving Decor post with a ton of pics.

My dining room table has six chairs, but I only have four at the table right now. We usually have eight guests for Thanksgiving, so we put four in the dining room and four at the kitchen table.

My kitchen tablescape is pretty much an exact replica of my dining room tablescape, so I'm just showing my dining room one today.

My table runner is from Dollar Tree. :)

I just used my everyday plates (they're Better Homes and Gardens from Walmart) with some gold chargers from Michael's, some green napkins from Anna's Linens, and my "homemade" napkin rings. More on the napkin rings at the bottom of the post.

Here's a closer look at the napkin rings.

Here's where the other two chairs are from my dining room table. I put them off to the side and bought a little table from Kirklands to make this into a little sitting area. I just ordered white chair covers for these chairs. I think I'll like the white much better than this pattern. 

These are my "homemade" napkin rings. I bought these plain wood napkin rings from Hobby Lobby. They came in an 8 pack for $3.99. (I made these years ago, but I just checked, and Hob Lob still carries these) I painted them gold and tied some Fall ribbon around them. You can see in the pic below how the inside is still the natural wood color. 

This is the craft paint I used on the napkin rings.

And this is the Fall ribbon I used. I cut 14 inch strips and just tied them onto the napkin rings. I love this idea, because I can change out the ribbon for different holidays. I have Christmas ribbon, Easter ribbon, etc. I just keep all the ribbon strips in a ziplock bag in the buffet in my dining room.
