Happy Tuesday! I'm back with another round of "around the house" pics. I know a lot of the country is dealing with blizzard like conditions, but here in Texas, a few flowers are still blooming and it's been in the upper 60's lately. But having said that, I'd absolutely love to have a little snow. Not blizzard snow, but maybe an inch or two once or twice a year. Although I don't think that'll happen anytime soon. :)
Some of you may remember a long time ago, I talked about painting my fairy door in the backyard. On a whim the other day, I grabbed a can of sterling silver spray paint and gave it a quick coat...

I've shared our full sized bottle brush trees in the backyard before, but I don't think I've ever shared these miniature ones we have. I should have taken the pic a few days before when they were in full bloom. They were starting to fade at this point, but were still pretty.
I picked a few knockout roses the other day and brought them inside. I love the cheerful look of roses. :)
And of course, I've been moving my Valentine's Day decor around a bit. It sure doesn't stay the same for long.
As I mentioned before, we're getting ready to replace our current checkerboard tile backsplash with white subway tile. I've been busy taking some "before" pics of the kitchen and we also priced everything at Home Depot last weekend. I think we'll get started on it in the next couple of weeks.
I love this teeny tiny bit of Valentine's Day decor in the dining room. :)
So, I know y'all couldn't care less what kind of detergent I buy, but my grocery store was out of my regular detergent for two weeks in a row. Since I was forced to buy a different brand, I just kind of quickly threw this box of Surf in my cart and you know what? I really like it! As a bonus, it was also cheaper than my old brand. I think it was only $3.97. So there's my household tip for the day. :)
After a few days of dark skies and rain, the sun finally appeared and I couldn't resist taking this pic of our sun filled breakfast room.
Hope y'all have a great day and stay warm!

Everything looks so lovely Lisa! I love the fairy door on your tree!
ReplyDeleteDo you know how many people you are making jealous right now of your warm weather? I would take 60 right now! It is cold and windy here today, but no snow or rain. So, I guess I won't complain. That little fairy door is so cute. I use Tide pods and doubt that I'll stray from that, but it's good to know of another good brand out there!
ReplyDeleteWe are enjoying nice weather right now....however it is going to turn cold tomorrow and then may snow. LOL!!!! Love your littley fairy door....so cute!!!

Love love your kitchen.
ReplyDeleteIt was 74 here today. How are we getting so lucky? Oh mercy, I love it! My girlfriend is coming from Upstate New York in a couple of weeks. I'm just hoping for some of this while she's here.
Your little nest picture is so cute!! I've actually been bringing bird nests back out. They are my favorites year round.
I can't wait to see your new backsplash!! Your weather sounds awesome!! We've had cloudy, foggy and just plain yucky weather for so long that I am literally craving sunshine!!
ReplyDeleteYour home looks so pretty, Lisa. I know your new backsplah is going to be gorgeous. We have also finally had beautiful weather in the last few days. Last week was awful. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteOh I know you are so excited about that subway tile! Your weather right now sounds so amazing!!
ReplyDeleteEvery thing looks so nice Lisa. Enjoy that warm weather. I am so jealous. We have sun but it is still very cold here outside of Chicago.

That fairy door is cute, I think we should have one too! Lovely tiny valentine vignette, I'm sharing something for Valentines next week too, nothing big but enough to feel the holiday. :-) Glad your warm where you are, we don't have snow too and I'm wearing cardis today. :-)
ReplyDeleteLisa,
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy reading your blog post! So, fun to see what you are up to! I adore your fairy door, way too cute! It's amazing what different weather you get down there in Texas!!! Oh, btw, we are flying into Houston on our way to England. Are you near there? I hope you have a wonderful week, my dear friend!
Isn't it just so much fun thinking about and planning a project? For me, it doesn't matter if it's a big one or just something little, I just get so excited about it. Can't wait to see your new backsplash! We have one of the mini-bottlebrush bushes at our front walkway, and it is all budded out and ready to start blossoming any day now! We had a full-size tree at our previous home, and the hummingbirds loved that tree.
ReplyDeleteI just love your dining room Lisa! A bright and pretty! And of course your little pops of red and white here and there! I need to get mine out! Wish I could trade you an inch of snow for some pretty roses! :) Have a lovely rest of the week, fried!
