Here's the recipe for Pretzel Hugs I promised. :) Everyone really enjoyed these at
THE PARTY. These are so easy to make and are always a hit at family gatherings. I got the original recipe from Erin's blog
HERE

Don't they look good? Yum! |
|
Here's what you'll need. One 15 oz. bag of waffle pretzels or square pretzels. Two 12 oz. bags of Hershey's Hugs. ( I only show one bag in the pic) and one 14 oz. bag of M&M's. |
|
You just place a pretzel on a parchment lined baking sheet and top each with an unwrapped Hershey's Hug. Then place in a pre-heated 200 degree oven for about 7 minutes. You want the hugs to just barely melt. |
|
As soon as they come out of the oven, quickly place two m&m's on each hug. You can see how they kind of squish down when you put the m&m's on. |
|
Here's what they look like right after placing the m&m's on them. |
|
Then put them in the fridge in a single layer overnight to set up. Those are candle stick holders I used to fit two layers of cookie sheets in my fridge. :) |
|
I just placed two candle stick holders in the middle of the bottom cookie sheet, then put the other cookie sheet on top to save room. |
|
Here's what it looked like before I popped it in the fridge. |
|
After sitting in the fridge overnight, I let them come to room temperature on the counter. Then they're ready to box up and give as gifts or display on the table.
Here's the actual recipe I used:
Any square shaped pretzels
Hershey's Hugs
M&M's
Pre-Heat oven to 200 degrees
Place pretzels on parchment lined cookie sheet
Place an unwrapped hug on each pretzel
Place in 200 degree oven for about 7 minutes
As soon as they come out of the oven, place 2 m&m's on each hug
Put in fridge overnight to cool
In the morning, leave them out on the counter to come to room temp before packaging up.
*NOTES*
One 16 oz. bag of pretzels and one 12.60 oz. bag of m&m's and two 11 oz. bags of hugs will make two batches, for a total of about 140 pretzel hugs.

Oh heavens I need to try these and probably eat the whole batch.
ReplyDeletethanks for the recipe
betsy
This is one of my favorite treats to make for the Grands! I got the recipe from Erin's original source, Becky Higgins (yep, that Project Life lady) and have been making them for years. I love using the striped hugs at Halloween -- I think they look like spider webs. Last Christmas, I made them using Rolos instead of Hugs, and they were incredible! I've never refrigerated mine, and they set up fine.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure I could eat all of those. They look delicious (and super cute and colorful.) Great gift idea!
ReplyDeleteMy mother in law makes these every Christmas and I end eating most of them! The perfect blend of salty and sweet! Ok, now my mouth is watering...
ReplyDeleteLooks YUMMY! Thanks so much for sharing at AMAZE ME MONDAY!

Can't wait to try these, as I have made the ones with pretzels,
ReplyDeleterolo's and pecans, and they are quick and fabulous. People usually say who brought these...........the hardest part is peeling the rolo's. My kid of treat! Easy and delicious.
Thanks for sharing this.
Blessings, Nellie
