I've had a love affair with Swedish Mora clocks for some time now, so imagine my surprise when Pamela From My Front Porch To Yours Blog posted one on Instagram for only $12.99! She got it at Kirkland's, so I immediately hightailed it down there and got my very own. Of course for that price, it's not an actual Mora clock, but I didn't care. It was close enough and had the look I was going for. So, here she is...
Isn't she pretty?
I love how she looks on our DIY rolling cart...
Okay, I mentioned the Chocolate Cherry Pecan Cake recipe a couple of days ago HERE. Well, I made it and it was delicious!
With the cinnamon, it reminds me of the Mexican Chocolate Sheet Cake. So yummy!
I finally got a chance to snap some pics of my Vitex trees in bloom...
The purple blooms are so vibrant and pretty!
Oh, and I also figured out the name of these pretties. I spotted it at Home Depot and a couple of nice readers also knew the name...it's Orange Bulbine. So, there you have it. :)
Apparently they're drought tolerant and perfect for xeriscaping if you're into that.
So, that's all for now. I'll be back soon with my new favorite and very comfy maxi skirt that comes in a billion colors for only $10 and some new flowers for the patio. I know, I know...you can't stand the excitement, huh? Lol!

Lisa, I love that you went to the store and bought a clock you wanted. I am so in love with your well manicured garden areas. The purple of the tree is beautiful. Can't wait to see your new skirt. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteLove your new clock....it looks great on your DIY rolling cart! Your garden is so beautiful.....your trees are soooooooo pretty too!!!!!! That cake looks sinful, I think I gained weight just by looking at it?!?!? LOL!!!!

Your clock is adorable. The cake sounds amazing. Your yard is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAlways love posts like this. :)
That is like a miniature Mora clock! Very pretty! Glad to know that the cake turned out good. It's hard to beat anything with chocolate in it. Your Videx trees remind me of my butterfly bushes here. They have purple cone shaped flowers at the end of the branches. They only bloom in the summer though.
ReplyDeleteCute clock, I actually just purchased a small clock at Kirkland's today that I will be giving away on my blog tomorrow! Love the photos of your yard :) Blessings, Cindy xo
ReplyDeleteYour new clock is so pretty! Vitex trees are one of my favorites! The neighbor behind us has a huge one and I'm getting to enjoy its lovely blooms.
ReplyDeleteLove your new clock! And that cake looks delicious. Your trees are gorgeous! I bet your plants are loving all the rain we are getting. xxx Maria
ReplyDeleteWow Lisa you have gorgeous, yum and so pretty all in one post. Love your garden area and the clock is awesome. The cake looks so moist and yummy! Have a great day.

Love your blog, have been reading about a year and is one of my absolute favorites! Thank you for presenting such neat, do-able projects, recipes, products etc. I love your backyard and plantings
ReplyDeleteJen, you have no idea how much I appreciate you coming here to comment! Thank you! I appreciate it so much! I'm glad you enjoy my posts. :) Hope you're having a great week! xoxo
DeleteP.S...would you consider a post about how you went about creating your back yard planter-bed areas? Love it all and thanks again!!!! Ps...loved your kitchen re-do and borrowed many ideas including cabinet 'bun-feet' :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea! I'll definitely start planning a post about creating my backyard beds. There were a lot of things to consider and I actually worked on the plan for quite awhile before starting it. I'm so glad you did the cabinet feet!!! That was such an inexpensive update and makes such a difference. I love the custom look it creates. :)
DeleteLove your clock..Just perfect on your rolling cart.
ReplyDeleteThe cake looks so good. Will have to try that recipe..
I always enjoy seeing your yard, plants and trees. Isn't it great for everything to be so green? I just feel bad for those that have lost so much in all these storms. We're kinda like Houston right now...a little rain every day! :) It's so cool, in the low 60's today and tomorrow. I know I will be craving that in July & August!
ReplyDeleteI love clocks! Your new one is very pretty!
xo

That cake looks so delicious, Lisa! I love making bundt cakes and will have to try it! And can't wait to hear about the maxi skirts! I have decided I can never have too many "crotch-less yoga pants" so look forward to hearing where you got them from :) Have a great weekend, friend! xo
ReplyDeleteKendra @ www.joyinourhome.com
Thanks, Kendra! I'm working on the maxi skirt post and should have it up later today. I love "crotch-less yoga pants" too! Ha ha! You made me laugh with that one! ;)
DeletePretty little clock and she blends in so perfectly! Oh my!----what a pretty purple tree! Love it. How long does it bloom like that?
ReplyDeleteThank you..I cannot wait for the backyard post! I always wait to read your posts until I can sit down and really enjoy them...I have a 4 year old precious little boy;) ;) Our backyard looks to be quite similar to yours in shape/size. I would also love to know if you DIY'd your concreted covered patio area. Thanks again..I just love your blog. :) xo
ReplyDeleteAh yes...nap time is great isn't it? I remember when my boys were little and I would look forward to it daily. ;) We did do the pavers on the patio ourselves. Here's a link to the post: http://texasdecor.blogspot.com/2013/11/patio-makeover.html I'm not sure if that link will work, but if you put "patio makeover" in the search box on the right side of my blog, it should come up. I didn't really do a tutorial on it, but we pretty much just put down a concrete mixture and plopped the pavers right on top. :)
DeleteAwesome, thank you!!! :) have a great day!
