Mother's Day

Hi y'all! I thought I'd show a few pics from our Mother's Day celebration. We had my mom and stepdad over along with my aunt and uncle. I just did a simple table with a few snacks and cupcakes.

First off, I wanted to show y'all these simple cupcake boxes I sent home with my mom and aunt...

I bought the plain boxes at Michael's, then jazzed them up with some silver glitter tape, pink and white washi tape, and baker's twine (all from Target's dollar spot) The tags are from Michael's dollar spot and I used my "handmade by" stamp, then just wrote my name in the box. The boxes came with an insert to keep the cupcakes from moving around and each box held four cupcakes.

We had mini quiches, fiesta dip with blue corn tortilla chips (that my aunt brought), green chili dip, strawberries with fruit dip, and cupcakes.

That fruit dip is so good! It's just 8oz. of softened cream cheese mixed with a 7oz. jar of marshmallow creme.

I love a white cupcake with vanilla icing. Although, I did add about 2 tsp. of almond extract to the white cake mix.

My oldest son brought me these chocolate covered strawberries after he got off work on Mother's Day. :) They were delicious!

Here's a pic from instagram. I got these cute cupcake liners at Michael's. I was surprised they had so many to choose from. They were all only $1.50-$1.99.

I decided to store them in a little glass jar on my counter.

Well, I guess that's all for now. I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day!

  3. Sounds like a wonderful Mother's Day to me. Glad you reminded me about that fruit dip. We have our neighborhood Bunko next week and we all bring something. I just might do that! Your cupcake papers are so cute in the jars. Michael's always has a great selection of them. I like cupcakes because they kind of force a little portion control. :)

  4. What a nice spread for Mother's Day! You did it up right. I love the way you packed the cupcakes in those pretty boxes. Cute idea. Also I like the bright colored cupcake liners you found. I love cupcakes. I made some for my son's birthday earlier this month. Might have to make another batch for my hubby's birthday next month!

  7. What a beautiful table! The food looks so good! Love the idea of the cupcake boxes. My daughter works at Incarnate Word University and they are always having birthday celebrations. I just had her take a look at your pictures and she loved it. I think we will be doing this next time she has to bring a gift or treat. Great idea!
