So, how was the first week back to reality after Christmas break? It's usually a long week, but I can't believe how quickly it went by.
For some reason, our Knockout rose bush is in full bloom right now, so I clipped some flowers to bring inside.

I love how easy it is to add a pop of color with neutral decor as a background. I'm thinking of adding some new pillow covers in a navy print. I don't think I've ever had navy in this room (besides that vase above) and I think I'd like the change.
Maybe some navy patterned plates on the mantel?
And a few pops of navy on the rolling cart? Hmm...I'll have to shop the house first, then go in search of pillow covers.
So, onto another subject...
With it being the start of a new year, I know a lot of us are trying to make healthier food choices and I wanted to share a few favorites of mine.
Smart Ones chicken enchiladas ~ so good! I've been buying them for years and they really have a lot of flavor. They're only $1.74 at my local grocery store.
I really like to have a little chocolate in my day and these York peppermint patties hit the spot. One of these (snack size) only has 60 calories and 1.25 fat grams.
I've talked about Skinny Cow products before and they're still a go-to item for my sweet tooth. These dark chocolate dreamy clusters are my favorite. If you're local, HEB has these on sale, buy one get one free right now with an in-store coupon. They're normally $3.64 a box at my store.
My mom and aunt kept talking about this Skinny Pop popcorn and I finally tried it. It was delicious! Only 43 calories per cup, people! So far, I've only tried white cheddar, but they have a lime and salt version I want to try next. This bag was $2.83.
So, I'm curious, what are your favorite low fat snacks or meals? I'm always looking for new things to try. :)

Lisa, I loved your roses. Can hardly believe they are blooming. Wow. I really like your neutral room. Blessings for a great weekend, xoxo,Susie

ReplyDeleteLove your idea of adding navy.. Bet that will be pretty.
ReplyDeleteI love skinny cow products.. So good.
Lisa- I am so jealous that you have roses blooming. I LOVE York's Peppermint Patties. My father loved them, too. I would find his stash and eat them and then blame my brother...who did not like them to begin with....lol
ReplyDeleteYour room is just lovely- xo Diana
I do like that pop of blue and white in your home! It's so classic and really does look nice with neutrals around it. Navy blue is very popular this year so you shouldn't have any problem finding other accessories for your home. Thanks for the tip on some low fat snack options. I love the skinny cow frozen yogurt bars! I haven't tried the candies yet.
ReplyDeleteI like to keep foods like you've suggested on hand to snack on but not be too fattening. The WW Smart Ones are all so good!
ReplyDeleteI vote for navy blue too. :)
Navy would look so beautiful in your space! It's a color that demands attention but it's still considered a neutral which in my book is perfect! Can't wait to see how you incorporate it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your healthy sweet snacks :) I have been having a sweet tooth lately and try my best to keep it low calorie. I found these Chobani Yogurt Simply 100 flip at Target. They have two compartments, one with the yogurt the other with the toppings and oh my word, delicious is an understatement. And they're only 100 calories! I only got 3 to try out and wish I would of gotten more :(
Happy rest of the week to you my friend!
Hey there Lisa!
ReplyDeleteGreat post and I love your blue vase! I think it will look great to add blue! It is fun the start of the New Year, it kind of is a blank slate in our home and lives! Happy New Year!
Thanks, Janine! So good to hear from you! I think navy will be a fun change for the new year. Wish we could go shopping together! :)
DeleteI think navy would look great! I have a navy accent wall in my bedroom...not sure if you've seen it or not. I have all gold framed mirrors and they show up very nicely. The knockout roses around here are still blooming too. Amazing to me since we've had such cold temps. I understand more is coming tonight. :/
ReplyDeleteI love fresh fruit...and try to keep grapes in the fridge. I also like fresh veggies to snack on, green peppers, cucumbers, etc. Have you ever tried the Kashi frozen meals? They really are tasty and there's a nice variety. I'm not a candy person at all...weird, huh? I never even think of it. I so wish I felt the same about pies, cakes, cookies, etc. :)

I like the navy too and have considered it for my home but wonder how it would look with all the black I have... navy and black? I love skinny cow products and I'll definitely give the Smart Ones a try. They look good.
ReplyDeleteYour home is just a breath of fresh air always Lisa, I love how airy and relaxing your living room always is.
ReplyDeleteAs for the food, HOORAY for skinny cow's dark chocolate clusters! I also love Slim fast Dark Chocolate Cherry Cashew bars!
