Life Pics

This post is about a whole lot of nothing. Just random pics from my phone showing what I've been up to lately...

So, we had this little stray cat show up the other day. I couldn't stand it...I had to give it some food and water. :)

And...before I knew it, this one showed up as well.

I guess word got around the neighborhood rather quickly that the "all you can eat cat cafe" was open for business. :) We had a couple more show up after I took this pic too. Oh my, look what I started. Lol!

Did y'all know Oreo came out with these new flavors? That marshmallow crispy one is really tasty. :)

Or if you're trying to be good, these are always a hit with me. I love all the different Skinny Cow candies.

But then again, if you want to be bad, these are good too. :) Hubby gave these to me on Valentine's Day. Dark chocolate covered marzipan from See's Candies is my all time favorite!

Speaking of Valentine's Day, this was our dinner I was preparing. Would you believe I've never used the outside grill? I'm very intimidated by grilling and just cooking meat in general. I'm always afraid I'll mess it up or not cook it long enough. I always make hubby cook the meat on the grill. I will however, use the George Foreman Grill. That's how I cooked these steaks. It's so easy. Do y'all have one? I just plop the steaks, chicken, etc. on there, close the lid and set the timer for about 9 minutes (depending on what I'm cooking) and they're always done to perfection.

Isn't this a gorgeous sunrise? I took this pic out on our back deck before I took my son to school the other day. I didn't use a filter or anything. The sky was really that color.

Apparently I can't quit talking about food in this post. This is some chocolate king cake we had recently. So good!

And also, I apparently can't stay away from the Target Dollar Spot. Here are some letter stamps, chalkboard tags, and a tray I picked up there the other day. I'll probably spray paint the tray.

And we're back to food again. :) While at Target, I saw this mix and couldn't resist.

The kids really liked them. To me, they tasted a little like Boo Berry Cereal, a little like Kool Aid, and a little like cotton candy. They would be cute to have at a Blue's Clues birthday party. Gosh...is that show even on anymore? My kids used to watch it a million years ago. :)

I put this on instagram the other day. I thought it was funny when I noticed I was still putting "dangerous" items like permanent markers, super glue and scissors up high where my kids "couldn't reach them." Well, both my boys have been taller than me for years now. Old habits die hard, I guess. :)

Well, I guess that's all for now. Y'all come back tomorrow for a super quick and delicious salsa recipe and then later in the week, I'll share my St. Patrick's Day Decor. Y'all have a great day!

  1. We don't have one of those George Forman grills. I've heard good things about it though. I think it would be a nice way to grill when the weather is bad outside. It's good to hear that it cooks steaks well. I've been staying away from junk food and candy lately. So, I might have to try one of those Skinny Cow treats! I have a sweet tooth and have missed things like that. I forgot all about those!

  2. We do have a GF grill...and love it. (oops, better thaw out some meat for dinner..:)
your food looks great...even the blue cookies...:)
That Texas sky is so beautiful...a great photo of it.
    It's cold here today...after being in the 80's yesterday, it's 19 degrees today.....crazy weather.

  3. We do have a GF grill but find I don't use it very much anymore. We do low-carb around here, so the Skinny Cow candies are a "no, no" -- really high in carbs. If I'm going to blow the carb-thing anytime soon, it is going to be on King Cake -- really want to make one of those!

  4. Never has a grill like George Forman. My husband does all of the grilling on a Weber charcoal grill, we love the taste. Those candies look delicious, love See's candies.

  5. Are those feral cats or do you think they have a home? My sister acquired 4 cats this way, she just felt sorry for them begging for food!

We used to have a George Foreman back when Panini's were all the rage. It may still be downstairs. I am hoping this will be the summer I learn to cook on the grill. Hubby always does it at the lake and I kind of like seeing him do something domesticated Lol!

I will have to check out the cookies for Abby and hubby. Chips Ahoy has come out with some sort of "gooey" cookies that I picked up and Keebler has Coconut Cremes. It's been over 6 weeks without sugar and it doesn't faze me to have it in the house. I can't even eat sugar free candy, it just starts the flavor cravings.

Love your other pictures. I still walk with scissors pointed down!!

    XO,
    Jane

  6. I've never used a George Foreman grill for steaks. That photo makes me want to try. I'm kind of clueless when it comes to making steaks indoors. My sister-in-law just sent me a King Cake (I used to live in Louisiana and Mississippi)...it was so good!
    I really enjoy your blog:)
