Homemade Salsa Recipe

This is the best salsa I've ever tasted! I just had to share it with y'all. :) It's also the perfect gift for a neighbor, teacher, friend, etc. Just put it in a mason jar with a ribbon tied around the top and deliver it with a bag of tortilla chips. :)

I originally got the recipe HERE, but I actually choose to leave out the cilantro and lime. I actually love both of those, but for some reason I never put them in when I make it.

Here's the recipe: (I usually double these amounts)

(1) 14.5 ounce can Rotel
(1) 14.5 ounce can whole tomatoes
4 teaspoons jalapenos (from a can or jar, not fresh)
1/4 cup yellow onion, diced
3/4 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon sugar

In food processor (or blender) place jalapenos and onions. Process for just a few seconds. Then add everything else and process until well blended, but don't puree. Place in covered container and chill. Serve with thin tortilla chips. (we like Tia Rosa's megathin tortilla chips the best)

Here are a few pics from the last time I made it:

I think the thin tortilla chips make all the difference. My friends and I think this tastes just like the salsa from Chili's. :)

Here's a pic of the jalapenos we use, and yes, that's a huge jar! We eat a ton of jalapenos around here. :)

I hope y'all try this salsa. It's so good!

Thanks for stopping by!
