Adding a Medallion To The Dining Room Chandelier

I've been noticing a lot of ceiling medallions lately. I've always liked the look of them, but didn't want to spend a lot to achieve that look. As luck would have it, Home Depot had just what I was looking for and it was under $20!

Here's a little before pic...

Below is what we bought at Home Depot.

I like the plain, simple look of it and I love the beading around the edges.

Here it is out of the package.

It only took my hubby about 20 minutes or so to remove the light, install the medallion, and put the light back up.

I think it adds just a little something extra to the ceiling. :)

What about y'all? Do you like the look of medallions? Do you have them in your home? If I had known how inexpensive they could be, I would have put one up years ago. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Yes, I like ceiling medallions. I have one in my family room above my crystal chandelier. Yours looks great! I think they're a nice way to add architectural interest to the ceiling and make the chandelier look more expensive.

  4. That looks really nice, Lisa. I am really liking the burlap cover on the cord/chain. I'm going to take a closer look at both the dining room and the breakfast room chandies to see how easy (or difficult) it would be to add those. It would have to be super-easy without rewiring, or The Man will simply say "that's not a priority." I must admit, he has a lot of projects on his plate right now, so I may have to wait this one out....lol!

  5. I love it, Lisa! I just installed a new foyer light and the ceiling medallion I added was just the perfect extra touch. I like the simplicity of it, too. Jane

  9. I added a small one when we placed our JA chandelier in the kitchen too, I think it adds a little extra touch of cuteness!
