Hair Color, Nail Polish, and Pink Lemonade Cookies

I have a few fun things to share with you today. It's kind of a random post, but I kind of like it that way. :)

 medium brown hair color
So...this just happened. Yep, I colored my hair for the first time ever! I love it! This shade was a perfect match to my natural color. My boys didn't even notice I'd colored my hair when they came home from school. But then again...they ARE boys, and boys don't seem to notice anything. :) I went to the L'oreal Gold Rewards Website and signed up for the hair color program. You get one free box of hair color for every 5 you buy. Pretty good deal. Last week Walgreens had this on sale for $6.99 and I had a $2.00 coupon, so I colored my hair for five bucks! Ha! MUCH cheaper than a salon. My hair comes just past my shoulders and I only needed one box, but I bought an extra one just in case.

Remember a couple of weeks ago when I told y'all that there was a $1.00 off Wet-N-Wild coupon in the Sunday paper? Well, this nail polish is normally only $1, so I used my coupon and got it for free! This is the second bottle of this brand I've bought. I only use it on my toenails, but for me, it lasts about 3-4 weeks before I have to re-do it. I hate to say it, but I like it better than my $8 polish. :)

Have y'all seen these? Oh my goodness, they are GOOD!! They're pink lemonade flavored cookies with pink lemonade flavored frosting. Yum! I got them both at Walmart.

Here's a close up of the cookie dough after you mix it up. I don't know if you can see it in this pic, but there's tiny bits of pink lemonade flavored candy in the dough. Delicious!

Here they are, ready for the oven.

And here they are fresh out of the oven, piping hot. See those candy bits? They would be good just like this, but they're even better with the pink lemonade frosting.

And here they are all prettied up with the frosting. These would be a perfect addition to a summer time lemonade stand. Well done, Pillsbury!

Well, that's all for now. Enjoy your day!

  1. The nail polish recommendation is really good to know. I went to the salon to get my nails done for years. You know the acrylic ones. :) Love them but I'm tired of going. I've been painting them myself and it's actually kind of enjoyable.

  2. I've never had a professional manicure or pedicure (always do that myself), but I do have the pros do my hair. I always did it myself when I was younger, but not anymore. I get a weave which lasts between 3 & 4 months, so I feel that's pretty good.

I don't think I've ever tried the Wet 'n Wild polish. I usually buy the Pure Ice, because they have some fabulous colors. I just found and highly recommend a Sally Hansen product, Diamond Flash Fast Dry Top Coat. It protected my mani better than anything I've ever tried.

Now about those cookies -- no can do on my low-carb eating plan, but they look so doggone good!

  3. You didn't mention what color you did your hair! I'd love to see it! I get high lights and low lights so I can't do it at home but a family friend does it for me so I get quite a deal! Yay!

I never tried Wet and Wild. I hate painting my nails...really, just hate taking it off! And they all chip after a few days. I wonder why toenail polish always stays on so long!! lol!

I saw that cookie mix in the store...I have to try it, they look so pretty!

  5. Great suggestions ~ thank you! I haven't tried Wet & Wild but if it stays on, it's a winner. I really dislike paying $8 or more for polish. Have you tried the "Sinful Colors" that Walgreen's carries? They're usually 2 for $3 and lots of great colors! Stays on really well too.

I saw the cookie mix at Walmart but haven't tried it yet. They look so pretty! Last time I was there, I saw the Key Lime Cake Mix and I must try it. :)
