My Garden

Edit: I had this post ready to go and then Harvey decided to visit. I thought I'd go ahead and post it now though. Things are definitely green around here with all the rain and my plants didn't seem to mind the storm at all, thank goodness. Hope you enjoy my summer garden pics...

I snapped a few garden pics the other day and thought I'd share. We're still in the thick of summer around here, but hopefully in another month or so, we'll cool down a bit.

Below is the Candlestick bush I talked about earlier. It's starting to bloom and couldn't be prettier.

I'm still so impressed with my white Angelonia. I think it'll become a garden staple for me. You can see the blue plumbago in the background too...

Lantana...

A little purple Angelonia with some bonus Gomphrena that popped up. Love those garden surprises!

My Torenia and Marigolds on the patio are just starting to fizzle out. They lasted the whole summer though, so I can't complain. I'm not sure if I'll do mums or pansies on the patio this fall. I love mums, but hate to keep deadheading them and the long stretches in between blooms.

Are you starting to plan your fall garden yet?

  2. Such pretty flowers! We like alot of the same ones. Yes, I bought purple and also orange mums last night and some purple things--to add to last years mums and whats still going from summer. Looking forward to the pansies!!---not in the garden centers here yet!

  3. Your flower beds are always so pretty! I love that you have so much color but you use low maintenance plants. That's definitely the way to go.

  4. You always have the prettiest flowers in your yard! It is feeling "Fallish" here in the mornings and evenings here but still hot enough to wear shorts during the day. I really like this time of year. So glad that your yard wasn't destroyed from the hurricane! We have a lot of work to do in ours from Irma because of all the trees in our yard. Comes with the territory I guess.

  5. Lisa, your plants are gorgeous! Do you use any kind of plant food on them? After Harvey my crepe myrtles are covered with a coating of black, sticky stuff and they look terrible. I'm hoping after they get trimmed in the winter they will come back healthy. I think I'm going with pansies this year, the mums are a lot of work. Have a wonderful Sunday!
