Decorating My Nest

Hello there! I was moving a few things around again the other day (big surprise) and came across this print...

I love this framed definition of a nest. :) I also love being home and I guess that's why I love decorating my home (or feathering my nest) so much. It's where I spend most of my time, so it makes sense.

Here's a close up...

So cute how the nest is made up of the word "nest." Clever. :)
Some of you may remember I have a bigger version in my kitchen too...

This is a rarely seen piece of furniture...

Not sure why it doesn't make it onto the blog very often, but this Bombay chest is one of my favorites. Those prints on top were purchased on a trip to San Francisco. My entire candle collection is stored inside and it smells SO good!

Another thing that rarely makes it onto the blog is an entire pic of the armoire in the living room. I really should take pics from different angles every now and then to spice things up. Lol!

I love this sofa table in the foyer, but I would also love something a little bigger. And storage would be a nice bonus. I'll need to keep my eye out. Maybe I can find a small dresser that needs some love in the form of a makeover.

I love a light and bright bathroom. Makes it easier when doing my makeup.

Wishing you all a safe and happy fourth of July weekend! I doubt I'll get any of my red, white and blue decor out this year, but if I do, I'll share on Instagram @texasdecor

  1. I like that cute Nest picture. You have done such a great job making "your nest" cozy and pretty. I haven't brought out any red white and blue stuff either. I may do that on my front porch this weekend though.

  2. The nest prints are super sweet. Some people are just so creative. I love peeking at all of your "rarely seen" treasures! I tend to share the same spaces over and over again, too. I know I have a lot of those pieces. Maybe someday they'll make the blog! ;-) Happy 4th!!

  5. Your home is so lovely, neat and cozy! I just love it. I brought out a bit of red, white and blue since my 4 yr old loves seasonal things- but I'm like you and wanting a 'less is more' look right now... Not happening with millions of toys-ha! Happy 4th:)

    1. Thanks so much, Jen! I'm hoping to get out at least a couple of things for the 4th, but so far they're still packed away in the seasonal boxes. :)

  7. Love your little nest print. Your house always is cozy and inviting. Yep since we spend most of our time in our nests we should feathered them often. Have a great 4th too.

  9. I'm definitely going to find a place for the "nest" printable...that's a perfect definition for how I feel about house and home. Your home always looks so nice, Lisa. You and Holly do a great job of adding "softness" to your home, considering you girls are out-numbered!

Have a happy and safe 4th!

    1. Thanks, Kendra! It doesn't stay quite as clean in the summer with everyone home, but I try to keep it picked up. :) Thanks for stopping by!
