We seem to be on a roll replacing old lights lately. :) We recently got this Carriage House Chandelier from Ballard.
I can't tell you how much I love it!
Here's what we had before:
My hubby really wanted this blue pendant. It looked like the ones they have at our local Starbucks. I wasn't crazy about it, but I let him have his way (for once) LOL! I don't think I've ever mentioned that my hubby also made that stained glass insert above the door. He's a talented guy. :)
It didn't take too long for me to get tired of the pendant light and it really didn't match my decor at all.
Here are a few more "afters" of the new light.
I love how it looks when it's lit...
I'm so glad it doesn't have glass in it...I would hate to climb up there to clean the glass. :)
I'm so much happier with this new chandelier! That old one was really starting to get on my nerves. :)
Thanks for stopping by!

Lisa, I just bought the same one! I actually got the small and the large for two different areas. Have to get an electrician to hang the big one. Glad to see it hanging in your house. I love it!!
ReplyDeleteI love your new lantern light! That is so classic and pretty. I bet you'll never tire of it. It goes with any decor too. You never mentioned that your husband was so crafty! That stained glass window is really nice!
ReplyDeleteYour new light looks fabulous in your entry way! The stained glass window is beautiful too...what a talented hubby you have :o)

I love it, Lisa! I can see where your hubby was going with the pendant but I like this much better. He did a great job on the window though!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Wow, what a huge difference! I love it!
ReplyDeleteVery nice looking! I love it with the stained glass too!

Love it! I just bought the same one for my office and I couldn't love it more! I also love that there is no glass to clean! Yours looks beautiful in that spot!

Great choice, love your new fixture!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Christine! I'm really happy with it! :)
DeleteYour home's beautiful! You know I'm a fan of lantern lights & yours is perfection!! Like it was made for that space. Two thumbs up from this gal.
ReplyDeleteLove it Lisa! Ballard has some nice lighting! Looks great!
ReplyDeleteI have that light fixture too! I needed to replace the "boob" fixtures in my upstairs hallway and I looked for weeks until I found these. My requirements were: easy to change the light bulbs and easy to clean. We had an electrician install these in our hallway flush to the ceiling. I love them! The hallway is so bright now and they make me smile whenever I look at them!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I totally needed something that was easy to change the bulb too. :) I didn't want to have to get the ladder out or anything like that. I bet yours looks great!
DeleteLOVE it. Though the old light was beautiful in it's own right, it detracted from that beautiful stained glass. The new fixture is perfect!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sally! You know, I think you're right...the new light kind of lets the stained glass stand out on its own. Good point! Thanks for visiting!
DeleteI love that chandalier! Good choice!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ellen! I'm really happy with it. :)
