Daily Life

Hello all! Hope you had a good weekend. We had a pretty relaxing one. We celebrated Holly's 2nd birthday, which was fun. :)

I thought I'd share a few more phone pics with y'all. Looking through my phone pics pretty much sums up everything we've been up to lately. :)

I bought my Halloween candy early...I know better, but I do it every year. Wonder how many more times I'll have to buy it? ;)

Still tweaking the mantel...

I made jumbo soft pretzels for the first time the other day. They were just okay. I didn't think they had a lot of flavor. I should have coated them in something else besides salt. Maybe some Parmesan cheese would have been good. At least I got to use my cute ruffle bowl though. :)

I love Chick-fil-A. We made these copy cat Chick-fil-A nuggets again. They're SO good! I think the powdered sugar is what makes them so delicious! You can click HERE to see the recipe we used.

Holly was driving me crazy the other day wanting me to pull her ribbon around for her, so I tried a distraction technique...

I built that little "cat fort" for her. She was enthralled with it! She stepped inside and took a 5 hour nap!

And speaking of Miss Holly, she turned two on Saturday!

She got a new ribbon toy and lots of attention. Spoiled, spoiled, spoiled. :)

Okay, I just had to take a pic of this. It's a Kroger ad. Would you just look at all the pumpkin flavored things??? Let me list them for you:

Pumpkin pie, pumpkin creamer, pumpkin latte, pumpkin egg nog, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin shaped Reese's, pumpkin Oreos, pumpkin jello, pumpkin pop tarts, actual pumpkin, pumpkin sparkling juice, and pumpkin beer.

Whew! That's a lot of pumpkin products! I bet the pumpkin industry is happy. :)

Well, that's it for now. Hope everyone has a fantastic week! I'll be back soon with a Fall garden update. Still plenty of things blooming around here. :)

  1. I love that you celebrate Holly's birthday! Belle has been with us almost a year and that's worthy of celebration to us. We still call her our little pound puppy. :)

All of that pumpkin stuff amazes me every year. I love pumpkin pie but will pass on most of that other stuff. We had candy corn a couple of weeks ago and I ate most of it so no candy for us until the last minute.

I've been working on my porch today. It's a cool beautiful day here.

  2. I can tell you like to cook and bake. You are always taunting me with your good recipes. I'll have to check out that chicken nugget recipe. Happy Birthday to Holly! She's just a youngster. No wonder she's so playful! Although, my dog is over 9 yrs old and hasn't slowed down yet. We're still waiting. LOL! I haven't bought our Halloween candy yet because I'm trying to be good. If it's in the house, I know I'll cave in and eat it. Yes, everything is pumpkin related this time of year. My husband drinks that pumpkin beer. Yuck! I don't even like beer, let alone with something added to it like that. It sounds awful to me.

  3. Ok, I just checked out that recipe for the chicken nuggets and it's SO easy. Did you know that I made fried chicken tonight? My recipe is the same except without the powdered sugar. So that must be the secret ingredient!

  4. The pretzels look yummy! The last time I made those, I brushed them with melted butter and then sprinkled them with sea salt. I really like the cute bowl, too! You are starting to sound a bit like one of those crazy cat people, Lisa, but YAY, join the club! Dogs drool and cats rule!

  6. I love all of your fall decorations! I haven't bought candy yet but I will...I freeze the chocolate or I would be buying it every other day. My hubby is a sweet fiend!

Happy Birthday to Holly! She is so precious! And she's so little. My neighbor has a car that's bigger than my dog!

The pumpkin stuff is incredible. I see so many recipes on Pinterest, it's overwhelming!

Love your blog and your sweet little Holly! We just lost our sweet kitty yesterday. Cats are awesome, aren't they???? Our Maggie drank her water from a stemmed wine glass! I know! We spolied her just like you do your Holly!!! That's what's so FUN about having cats!

  12. Happy Birthday to Miss Holly! I love that picture you got of all the pumpkin stuff... I seriously think sometimes though, the retail world has gone a little too far! haha! I remember when candy corn were only avail. around this time of year but now they make them in Valentine's colors, too. I somehow think it's not as special anymore. And I still think your Chick-fill-A nuggest look amazing! Hope youre having a wonderful weekend, Lisa!
